NOVEMBER 2nd
The second most important person I am thankful for is my wonderful husband
He is the one of the greatest men I know.
James is such a tough cookie on the
outside but inside he has the biggest
heart. He works hard to provide us with
not only what we need but also quite a
few things
we don't need...lol.
He always puts
himself last and isn't ashamed to walk
around in tattered shoes just to make
sure that the kids come first. I'm
thankful for everything he does and that
he accepts and loves me and all my
awkwardness. I honestly believe he was
the one made for me.
My goodness where do I start. We had an absolute blast this year. Finally James was off work and was able to go with us which made the day even better.
Honestly every year we usually do more than just Halloween day. We started the Wednesday before with our first Fall Festival.
The kids enjoyed a trunk or treat, hay rides, horse and buggy rides, bouncy houses, exploring on a fire truck, hot dogs and hamburgers, cake walk, face painting, balloon animals, making their own caramel or chocolate covered apples, and lastly the boys got to ride a horse (Santana shied away). It was a great way to start off the Halloween fun. That Saturday we went to yet another Fall Fest and this time we all dressed for the occasion.
The kids again got to enjoy bouncy houses, horse rides, hay rides, cake walks and games. This time the church had hot dogs, fresh cotton candy, popcorn and lots of other treats. The kids had fun but at this fest I believe I had the most fun. Not only was my costume a hit but I was also the winner of the "guess the candy corns in the jar"
I was tickled to be the winner of the gift card :) YAY ME..lol.
Finally Wednesday was finally here and it was time to get ready. My oldest had Wrestling practice so when the other two got home we got ready to go to our final fall fest. My ex went to pick Vinny up and met us at the church.
I have to admit Halloween night the kids had fun running house to house Trick or Treating but I believe James and I had more fun just acting like kids and getting in character.
We finally got home a little after 10 and boy did the kids bring in more candy than needed.
But whats more fun than trick or treating on Halloween.......
Raiding the candy once the kiddies are tuckered out and sleeping soundly in bed.
Hope everyone else had a great and HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

I have decided to participate in 30 Days of Thanks this year. It is going to be a challenge for me to try to blog everyday rather than when I get the time But I'm going to give it a shot.
November 1st
1. I am most thankful for my 3 wonderful children.
I don't know how to say it better than to say that my kids have taught me so much and I am thankful for them everyday of their lives.
They keep me going. Anytime I have ever felt like I couldn't go on they have been a reminder that I may not be perfect at a lot of things but being a mother to them is what I do best. They thought me what a real family should feel like. They keep life exciting. They fill me with pride, joy, love, and laughter. The day my youngest was born I knew my family was complete.
I believe today has been the coldest day so far this fall. And when it gets cold it's time to make a big pot of chili.
|
- 1 29oz can of tomato sauce
- 2 10oz cans of diced tomatoes with green chilies.
- 1-2 16oz cans of red kidney beans.
- 1-2 16oz cans of pinto beans
- 2 TSP Cumin powder
- 3 TBSP Chili powder
- 1 1/2 TSP Black Pepper
- 2 TSP Salt
- 2 Cups Water
*** You can also make in the crockpot either set on low for 5 hrs or high for 2***
** For a spicier chili add 1/2 TSP more black pepper and 1 TBSP cayenne pepper. And for those real iron bellies add 4-6 diced Jalapeno peppers***
With about an hour left I slice up 1 whole beef smoked sausage and toss it into the pot. |
When finished Top with mild or sharp cheddar cheese serve with crackers and ENJOY..
Linking up with Stasha at The good life
for Monday Listicles. It's a different
topic every week - follow along and join in
This week's subject is 10 Firsts
1. First music video:
I remember the day we got Mtv at our house. It was something I had never seen before and after watching my first video that I still remember to this day. I was forever hooked on the hair bands and rock ballads.
2. My first car: I didn't really get to enjoy my first car. I paid $500 for a 70 powder blue Mercury cougar when I was 16 and it's transmission blew out as it was being brought to my house.
this is almost what it looked like My first car that I bought and was able to drive was a blue 86 Plymouth horizon |
3. My first child: I gave birth to my first son on July 9th 1998. He was 2 weeks over due and labor lasted 48 long and painful hours but it was one of the greatest moments of my life. The pain was only temporary but the experience will be something I will remember my whole life.
4. My first Job: I got my first job on my 16th birthday. I was to begin working at Southern Hosiery. I made $5.25 an hour folding socks in the finishing department after school.
5. My first concert: It was yet another greatest experience I will never forget. Again I was 16 and I went with 3 great friends to see Pantera, sepultura, and Prong

6. First tattoo: well My very first tattoo was a poor choice. it was done by a friend with a needle and Indian ink. It was the word LEO with the L and O made to look like eyes and it had fangs under it like a lion. I now have that covered up so I can't show a picture of what it looked like.
7. First Award: I won first place in an art contest when I was in second grade and my picture was displayed at the art museum here in town.
8. First real trip out of state: My first real trip out of state wasn't a planned one. My husbands brother and family were survivors of Hurricane Katrina. He and I made the trip down there to find them when communication wasn't even possible. The sights and sounds of unimaginable sadness added with the oh so real smell of death every where is yet another memory never to be forgotten. It was a long shot and we traveled on a wing and a prayer but long story short we found them.
9. First movie that really scared me: I remember being at my cousin Candy's birthday party. Most of the adults were inside watching a movie and every time I went in they shooo'ed me back out so being a young curious child I hid and watched with them. I found out later the name of the movie was FACES OF DEATH and to this day I can still remember the people taking out that poor monkeys brain and eating it...EAKKKK!! Such a crazy but real movie.
10. First broken heart: Was the day my grandfather passed away. He was the most positive male role model in my life. My parents separated and divorced when I was small and my grandfather took his place in my heart and in my eyes. He passed away on his birthday July 15th 1994 when I was 16.

Step 1. Use a glue stick and put glue
where you are going to want the rotten
flesh. **don't worry about it getting
stuck. it washes off with soap and
water**

touches and it's ok if its wrinkly.
wrinkles help the effect.

Step 5. Next I used a red lip liner to add a deep dark blood look.
Step 6. I also used a blush brush and
charcoal black eye shadow to enhance
the rotten look. you'll mainly just want
to use it around the edges of the toilet
paper.

We've been working on our fall bucket
list quite a bit lately so I haven't had
much time to get into my blog. Just
thought I'd drop in and share our little
list. It's so much fun we and we are
